Our Cardiologists provide a wide range of services that focus on the prevention, prompt diagnosis, and state-of-the-art treatment of cardiovascular disease.  All of our physicians and medical staff are highly trained professionals, maintaining the highest level of accreditation in cardiology to address the special needs of those we are privileged to serve.

Philip Berman, M.D., F.A.C.C.  

Dr. Berman is originally from New York state where he earned his medical degree from New York Medical College with AOA honors. He moved to Houston in 1982 for his Cardiology Fellowship training at the University of Texas in Houston. He founded Memorial Cardiology Associates in 1988 and since then has been serving the West and Northwest Houston area. He holds board certification in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and his clinical interests include General Cardiology, arrhythmia management, and treatment of congestive heart failure. He has served as Chief of Cardiology at both Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital and Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital, as well as Chief of Medicine at Memorial City Hospital. He is a recipient of the Texas Monthly Magazine Super Doctor award. Dr. Berman’s hobbies include fishing and enjoying his horses at his farm in Bellville, TX. 

   

Randall Morris, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Morris is a Texas native who completed his undergraduate, medical school, and residency training all at Texas Tech University. He moved to Houston to complete his Cardiology fellowship at UT Houston in the Texas Medical Center. He joined Memorial Cardiology Associates in 1989 and has over 25 years of clinical experience. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Nuclear Cardiology. His clinical interests include General Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Patient’s Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition. His hobbies include traveling and spending time with his three daughters.

 

Stuart Jacobson, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Jacobson is a Michigan native but has lived in Texas since 1977. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Baylor College of Medicine where he earned his medical degree with AOA honors. He completed Internal Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine and Cardiology fellowship at Texas Heart Institute where he also served as Chief Cardiology fellow. He’s been in private practice on the west side of Houston since 1993. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Jacobson’s special clinical interests include pacemaker implantations, carotid artery stenting, and complex coronary interventions, including angioplasty and stenting of chronic total occlusions. He has been voted by his peers as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor every year since 2004. Outside of work his interests include photography, travel, skiing, and spending time with his three daughters. 

 

Michael Mitschke, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Mitschke was born and raised in Houston, TX. He completed his medical school and residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He returned to Houston for his Cardiology fellowship at Texas Heart Institute in the Texas Medical Center. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Mitschke’s special clinical interests include pacemaker implantations and treatment of advanced and complex coronary disease, including coronary atherectomy and revascularization of chronic total occlusions. Outside of work, Dr. Mitschke enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and spending time with his wife and four children.

   

Omar Awar, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Awar is a Southeast Texas native from Beaumont, TX. He earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine and went on to complete his residency training at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA. He returned to the Texas Medical Center to complete his General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology training at Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as both Chief General Cardiology Fellow and Chief Interventional Cardiology Fellow. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Awar’s clinical interests include treatment of coronary and vascular disease and he specializes in performing heart catheterizations through the wrist (radial approach) in order to enhance patient comfort and safety. He also has taken special interest in the treatment of vein disease involving the legs and is able to offer our patient’s a safe and effective office-based procedure for the treatment of varicose veins as the source of chronic leg swelling and pain.
